The hand-carved, mirrored Farsi (Persian) calligraphy serves as an integral element of the design. These intricate carvings are timeless poetry of Omar Khayyam, a celebrated Iranian poet. While the verses themselves are not intended to be read and not readable, the flowing, abstract forms of the script offer a visual poetry that brings depth and elegance to each piece. Each plate is individually carved by hand, making no two exactly alike, despite the similarity in pattern.
